Merry Christmas!

I think my blog will be having a christmas break now December is here! As Im making christmas cards and prezzie's I wont be posting any makes on here for a while (unless I get chance to make some more butterflies!). Im currently working six days a week as you can see, every Sunday up until christmas I'm one of santas little helpers! (thanks heavens for online shopping LOL)

Happy Birthday Mags

It's Mags' birthday today so I can safely show you what I made for her. It's a bamboo tile pendant. Thanks to Lottie who provided me with the inspiration. It's simply a bamboo tile that I painted with purple H20's, then stuck a pic of a geisha girl on, varnished the whole thing. waited for it to dry then glossy accented the front so that it looked like glass! I hope you like it Mags!

The Butterfly Project

Here are 3 of my butterflies for The Butterfly Project. 2 are inked and stamped, the other one is painted using Tim Holtz crackle paint. huge thanks to Dan for turning me on to this project (and the butterfly template!). Please please take the time to read about this project and, hopefully, make your own butterflies to send!

Things i have to put up with!

A crafter's life is never simple, well, a crafter with pets thats for sure! This is what I've had to cope with this evening! A Wilma woo under the desk, and a Kitty whiskers on my knee!!

Mermaid canvas

I made this for my friends birthday. It's made using a stamp from Third Coast Stampers (who I love). Huge thanks to Paula who first put me on to these because I saw her gorgeous card using this stamp in Craft Stamper magazine! I stamped the image in Stazon then used acrylic paints to build up dimension. The shell's were from a Hawaiian lay that I was given on my honeymoon (hey, there's no room for sentimentality in crafting LOL) I am pretty pleased with the result if I do say so myself. It actually turned out more or less to how I pictured it in my head :o)

Great news!!!

Im back from my hols!! did you miss me LOL

Been to Hong Kong (again!) My OH has some kind of fasination with the far east, I think it's called 'cheap electrical goods' syndrome, a condition that seems to affect about 85% of men over the age of 8. Needless to say I 'talked' him out of a Playstation 3 LOL.

Trick or Treat

Well it's halloween soon and on CSF there is a Trick or Treat swap. The idea is that you make a Trick (scary) and a Treat (nice).

So here is my trick and treat.

Happy Birthday!

Now im sure most of you know that I really struggle doing 'kiddie' stuff, however, my friends little girl is 3 in a few days so i thought I would make her a card. I used a stamp from the Lily and Milo range (which I found on sale - yay!). This stamp is called Lily and friends and here is my effort at a 3 years olds birthday card!

Tag-eriffic!

Not blogged for a while as I've been getting ahead with birthday lists, seeing as Im off on hols next week - yay!!

Yet more tags! This time for Hel's Angels October swap. This months theme being autumn. Sorry about the quality of the pic but it is nearly 6pm so getting a bit dark!!! Two of them use pearlesent paints for the background. The dark one is kinda spooky as Autumn means Halloween!! For the other one I used the bandana technique.

California Dreamin'

This 9-4-9 is for Crafty Corner. Septembers theme was 'lines from a song' (Yes i know it's now October!) I googled autumn colours for the pic in the middle and created a background using a tree stamp. The 'tile' is a piece of stampboard glazed with UTEE and then I added a small leaf charm.

Wayhey!!!!

At last, the recognition I deserve (JOKE!!!!) I made it onto Zutter's Inspiration Station! I am pleased as punch! Mainly 'cos I've never had my stuff shown anywhere before. Huge thanks to Linda as it was only because she mentioned it that I found the site

Autumn days........

when the grass is jewelled and the silk inside a chestnut shell. Ah my favorite time of year (apart from Christmas that is :o)) This months 9-4-9 swap on LotsToDo is Autumn! So here is my creation made using stamps from Graphicus.

My fav is the one with the 2 old dears, I love that stamp which came from River City Rubber Works. A fab site for funny stamps!

New baby card!

This card is for my mother's friend Liz who is due to have her baby this weekend. As you can see it starts off as a typical baby card then for some reason turned into a grown-up baby card LOL! Probably due to the fact that I have no baby related stuff apart from a few bits and bob's left over from kits. Luckily Liz isnt that into babies either so hopefully she'll appreciate it :o)

The card is actually based on Caz's tag card.

Tag tastic!!

These tags are for Septembers tag swap on Craft Swap Forum . All of them are using products by Glenda Waterworth. I am soooooo in love with Artylicious/Elusive Images stuff at the mo! (I went through this about 12 months ago with a certain Mr Holtz so just bear with me LOL) The tag on the left uses an Anna Griffin background. The piece of glass is actually fragments from Tim holtz 'ideology' range, stamped on with stazon and overlayed onto the image. The middle tag is using some new elusive images stamps. They are brill in that you stamp the naked tree and then overlay it with leaves and blossom! The last one is slightly boring. It uses Artylicious Floral Fantasy backing papers and a peel off. I then stamped 'may all your dreams come true' on it but not sure if you can see it on the pic!

Thanks for your comments

My first ever canvas!!!!

This canvas was for a canvas swap organised by Hilda for here. My swapee is Sam who still has not received it even thought I posted it 6 days ago!!!! Why are Royal Mail soooo rubbish!! No doubt it's down some railway embankment in North Lincolnshire :O$

I painted the canvas with Heidi Swapp acrylic paint, added some mount board, a pic and frame then stamped the word Dream onto it.

Hope it arrives soon Sam!

Jigsaw Jewellery

My first ever pieces of jewellery. I'd been toying with the idea of making some jewellery from jigsaw pieces for a while but needed it to be for someone who would appreciate it (ie, not my family or non-forum friends LOL). I made some earrings and a broach by embossing with gold powder then stamping a bagkground stamp into the still wet powder.

They were for the HCA me to you swap so Tina was my victim for September. Can you believe I was early too, how totally not like me!!! Must be these pills Im on LOL

Thursday, 21 August 2008

Dont think I'll be making anything for a while!!! Those of you that know me will know I have been suffering with 2 slipped discs. Well I had got alot better to the point where I was relatively pain free. Unfortunately this week things just got a whole lot worse!! So Im now back being a practical cripple again which means I cant sit down for too long. Fingers crossed someone will shoot me soon LOL

Christmas cards!

Thought I'd make a start and try and get ahead of myself! Usually im a christmas eve kinda gal but thought I would be good this year and start early whilst I have time. Plus, my card making is a bit pants so I need plenty of time for all the one's that get 'filed in bin'. The snowman stamp is designed by the very talented Hels Sheridan as part of her stichels range.

9-4-9 pin up girls

This 9-4-9 is for a swap hosted by Angie on LotsToDo, the theme being 1940's/1950's pin up girls.

Saturday, 2 August 2008

My name is..........

No not Earl but Alison!!! This is my 'make' for another swap. This time we have to make something that had our swapping partners name on. I know Alison is into oriental so hope she likes my jigsaw geisha!!

Simply black and white!!

The theme for this month's 9-4-9 swap on the LotsToDo forum is Black and White (suggested by Hilda). I have to say I really struggled with this one!!! I had finished it a few days ago, left it on my desk, looked aat it everyday and decided it was crap! So that went in the bin and I made a new one LOL

What a doll!!!

Thanks to Sue from PaperParadise for the doll bits and Sam for hosting the swap. I mounted her body on mountboard (a delicate operation!) then stamped her a funky dress which I glittered (she's a glam gal!). Her 'parts' are attached using jump rings and brads. Her face came frm a CD Tuscan Rose. Put it all together and 'eh voila'
