Altered playing card

This is for a swap on UKS hosted by Hazel. Now I started out making ATC's from playing cards, but I didnt want to do that! Instead I decided to make a shrine to my playing card, luckily the only card I could find was an ace and not just a boring number LOL. I stamped my shrine (which came from here) and embossed it using brown embossing powder. I then rubbed perfect pearls over the top and added a charm.

When I added my playing card, it looked a bit boring, so I coloured it with alcohol inks and 'eh voila!' i just hope the recepient likes my homage to the humble paying card!

Thanks for looking everyone x

Stamp board brooch

This brooch is for a swap hosted by Sid over on UKS. For this I re-visited some of my old Paperartsy stamps, mainly because the larger image fitted almost perfectly on my piece of stampboard LOL

When is a canvas not a canvas?

Well technically it is still a canvas, i just wanted a more catchier title to my post than simply 'canvas' LOL This is for a swap on the Lots To Do forum. Instead of using the front of the canvas I simply turned it over and used the back. First I gesso'ed all the wood part then used the stamped tissue paper technique to create a background in the space behind the flower. The flower is a flora doodle (yes I am guilty of saving these for best but when actually is best?) I painted the 'frame' part with metallic brown acrylic paint, stamped onto the paint with a script stamp then stamped and watercoloured some flowers, covered them with glossy accents and punched out a butterfly motif!!

I actually really like it! I think Im tempted to make one for mothers day but know my mother will have no-where to put one!

Thanks for stopping by

Me to you

This is my final 'me to you' which is for Ann. It's a dream box frame which I made from mountboard and covered in tinfoil to try and give it a metal look (what do you think?)

Thanks for your comments

Pennants

Bloomin' eck this isnt like me!! 2 posts in 1 day, what am I thinking LOL

These pennants are for a swap hosted by Sue on Lots to Do. The theme was distressed so out came my Sir Timness of Holtz crackle paints. For the red one I then stamped a cloth flower with a script stamp and added a piece of stampboard and glued on it a pic of a lady. I then covered some of it with crackel accents. For the orange one I used a 'negative' of some grungeboard and a piece of washed up pottery that I found on a beachcombing session. I then stamped an eye on it and then went round the edges with a gold pen touch pen.

Happy Birthday Hilda!

Now that the day is finally here I can blog the presents I made! I made Hilda a domino book and an altered matchbox doll (cant you tell these are my new obsession!) I just love making them LOL

I hope you enjoy them Hilda

Bottle top doll!

UK Stampers forum is hosting an altered art swap using bottle caps. The idea is to decorate one or more bottletop and include it in a piece of work of your choice, so here is mine. She has a bottle top face and a body made from a matchbox. I opened out the matchbox and covered it with paper. The wings I made from mountboard and a stencil from a leftover section of grungeboard, which I inked up and stamped and embossed them using a script stamp. Her legs are stamped from a zettiology (?) set of stamps. Sorry the pics are a bit naff!
