Stir it up!

This altered spoon is for a swap on the Lots to Do forum, hosted by Ang C. My swapee is Ellen so I hope she likes it!!!

The ivy is from a spray I brought from Ebay with the idea of making a christmas swag (about 5 years ago lol) I covered the spoon with pva then pasted pages of an old book onto it. The quote is from Danielle Steel (or Barbara Taylor Bradford - one of them anyway lol) It says "If you believe in a fairy tale you can face the future"

I stamped the image onto tissue paper and pva'd it onto the spoon bit. I love my spoon, hope Ellen does too!

Up-cycling!

No, not cycling uphill LOL. Up-cycling is changing something. A bit like recycling except this baby wont be having a one way trip to China!!! This is for a swap on UKS hosted by Sid.

As you can see it started off life as a fruit tray.

I covered it with Gesso and newspaper. I then pva'd some pages from an old book onto it, inside and out. I added a few bits of TH crackle paint then inked over it using walnut stain distress ink.

I added a handle then used a TH stamp for the flourish which I cut out and attached. I also made the paper flower.

This is a close up of my stamping! I stamped onto tissue paper then pva'd it onto the packaging. Once dried I tore away the excess and 'eh voila'

For no particular reason.......

other than my Edward stamp arrived yesterday!!! So, recognise these 2 lol. It's supposed to be Bella and Edward at the prom. We all know that Edward likes Bella in blue, so a blue card! Bella is actually a bit of a Frankensteins monster, being mermaid anya (head), geisha anya (bun and dress) and superstar anya (scarf and arms)

Black or White?

Thought I'd have a go at monochrome! The sketch is from Farm Fresh Friday, which I think lended itself to a photograph type theme! I wanted a classic, vintage type look. The mermaid is coloured using just grey copics. Hubby thought I'd just taken a black and white pic of it so hopefully it looks authentic lol

Candy coloured chaos!

Well, talk about being out of my comfort zone!! This card is for my friends daughter who is soon to be 4. She is into Disney princesses and all things girly so this calls for a girly card. Now I have NO Disney crafting stuff whatsoever (and never will have!) so I adapted with a fairy which I coloured in using my copics.

The colour scheme comes from the Copic Colour Challenge which was to use pink, yellow and blue.

The flowers I adapted from tutorials by Wendy Vecchi and my mate Hels. The difference being that I used a Heidi Grace flower stamp and card rather than grunge paper. The only reason being was that I didnt want these to be too big which, when I tried the grunge paper, they were.

I cut the bottoms off all the flower petals so that I could fix them together using a brad to look like the centre of the flower.

Thanks for looking :o)

A birthday card (for a change LOL)

Well after all the festive fun thought I'd get on and do a birthday card! This is following the layout for Challenge 16 at the Sugar Bowl. I've also added some doodled stitches and dots using my white inkesentials pen.

Christmas stampin!

Yet more festive cheer LOL Although the way the weather is you'd be forgiven for think it's October rather than August! This is my entry for Debbie's Sketch Challenge on Christmas stampin all year round The stamps are a combination of Elusive Images (snowmen), crafty individuals (sentiment) art journey (snowflakes).

This is the sketch we had to follow.

I quite like this sketch for cards. Would never have thought of combining patterned and embossing backgrounds even though it's quite a simple (some would say a bit like me :o$) idea.

Happy Anyaversary!!!

Well its exactly 1 year ago since The Greetings Farm began and, to celebrate, they're hosting a big blog hop!!!

Here is my contribution

I used mermaid Anya for this card. Her tail and the bubbles in her hair are Diamond Glaze coated. To make her bubbles sparkle I added Stampin' Up glitter. The sentiment is also Stampin' Up, the card and background papers were from a QVC kit that I've had for an age!
Thanks for looking! If you want to see more of Anya click on the link on the right where, from 3pm UK time, there will be a full list of participants. There are around 80 peeps joining in so I hope your sitting down LOL
