Up-cycling!

No, not cycling uphill LOL. Up-cycling is changing something. A bit like recycling except this baby wont be having a one way trip to China!!! This is for a swap on UKS hosted by Sid.

As you can see it started off life as a fruit tray.

I covered it with Gesso and newspaper. I then pva'd some pages from an old book onto it, inside and out. I added a few bits of TH crackle paint then inked over it using walnut stain distress ink.

I added a handle then used a TH stamp for the flourish which I cut out and attached. I also made the paper flower.

This is a close up of my stamping! I stamped onto tissue paper then pva'd it onto the packaging. Once dried I tore away the excess and 'eh voila'
Thanks for looking
:o)

I REALLY like the paper flower. I think it would look cool on a card too. By the way - was just checking out your blog. I've never heard of Jensen Ackles or Jeffrey Dean Morgan - but HOTTIES!! lol. Especially that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (drooling). :)
