It's all 'sweet'!

This piece is for 2 challenges. Im using one of Ching-Chou Kuik's fabulous stamps, available from Sweet Pea stamps. Seeing as how she's a 'sweetie' means I can enter her in the Sweet Pea challenge blog. This weeks theme is 'gold. you might not be able to see it but I've edged the card with a gold ink pad. The brads for the flowers are also gold.

Speaking of flowers (!), this months raffle theme over at
All Things Crafty is Flowers!
Anyhoo, hope you having a great Wednesday. Only one more workday - woo hoo!!!

RE-cycling!!

This weeks theme over at Lots to Do is vintage, that, coupled with Allsorts theme of altering/recycling means I came up with this!

Now, as usual, I forgot to take a bloomin pic of the item BEFORE I started on it, thats why this pic shows it looking a bit naked (ooer missus!) It started off life as a cardboard box of biscuits - you know, the kind those posh one's come in.

I covered it over with some paper, which links me nicely to the Oh Alice challenge which, this week is to include text in your project - eh voila!

Once covered with paper I then set about 'vintaging' it up (is that even a word?) As you can see I added ribbon to tidy it up. Everything else is from my 'I'll keep this cos it might come in handy for something later' box.

The flowers I made using a Paperartsy and just basically
fiddling about with them till they looked right!
Anyhow, thats my post. Thanks for sticking with it till the end LOL
have a fabulous Monday!!
:o)

Winter Wonderland!

This weeks theme over at Winter Wonderland is to use an aperture. Well, aperture cards are totally not my thang!! Thats why its taken me till today to do it as I ummed and aaghed over what to do. I've got loads of aperture cards that came in a bundle of ready scored cards but never used them. The fairy is one of Mo's images. The holly I've had for ages, it's pre-cut foam.
Not sure if I like it or not but hey ho!! have a great weekend guys and gals! :o)

Art Raffle

March's art raffle theme is dolls. She is made from a bamboo tile that I threaded some wire through. I used some small bells for her feet and some hand charms for hands (obvioulsy LOL) Her arms and legs are made from seed beeds and I covered the tile with some paper. Her skirt and head belong to a Miss Anya!

Oh Alice! challenge

First post in a while as I've been off!! Back to work tomorrow though.

Here is my card for this weeks Oh Alice challenge. This week you have to include a caterpillar or a butterfly. I made an easel card. The Alice was a free digi image.

Hope you had a fab Sunday. It's my birthday today - yay! Thanks to everyone who sent me cards and gifts. I will post some pics and thanks later in the week ((hugs))

Happy Tuesday!

This card combines 2 challenges (Im getting good at this LOL) The sketch is from Mojo Monday.

The stamp is from Sweet Pea designs for the March Challenge. you must use the colours pink, red and yellow and have a flower on it some where!

I think this covers it!!

The stamped image I sprayed with glimmer mist to give her a bit of an etherial (sp) feel - well she is a mermaid after all!

Have a fabulous middle of the week :o)

Winter Wonderland

Here is my card for this weeks WW challenge. This weeks it's a sketch challenge.

I am desperately (don't all crafter's say that LOL) in need of some new card blanks but, in the spirit of being thrifty I've decided to use up all my old, cast by the wayside card blanks. This was a 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 sized card. The stamped image I received as an RAK so I've no idea where its from.

Over and out! :o)

As Mad as a.......

Hatter!!! (well what did you think?!) Although my hubby would say as mad as me today. Seem to have woken up cross, do you ever get that? As they would say in Yorkshire I've got a monk on. Dosent help that I've got work in a bit too!! Oh well.

As you can see I'm totally embracing the Alice in Wonderland theme that's doing the rounds at the moment LOL. This card is for the Oh Alice challenge, which this week is to use colours inspired by O.P.I's new nail varnish collection (it was on QVC the other night) which includes the colours Red, Blue and Purple. (oh, and lots of glitter LOL) it also qualifies for the Sunday Stampers challenge, which this week is Rabbits or Alice in Wonderland!

The sketch is this weeks challenge from Midnight Madness.

The papers are Stampin' Up (blue) and Cosmo Cricket (red). The images (apart from the tea pot) are from the Greeting Farm.

Anyhow, gotta love ya and leave ya as I'm off to work :o(

Have a fab Sunday whatever your up too!

Not all that charming!!

Nicky over on UKS is hosting a charm swap. We have to make 14 charms all the sameas part of the swap. Although mine are the same they are subtly different! For mine I decided to use glass and solder - much to the dismay of my poor fingertips!!! I measured 1/2 inch squares out on some microscopic slides then cut them with my glass cutter.

I then stamped and embossed a botanical background stamp onto card that I had sprayed with glimmer mist. I finished each charm off with a bead. Eh voila! Off to rub hand cream onto some very sore fingers LOL

:o)

Lots to Do Challenge

The theme over at the Lots to Do Challenge this week is distress - the Tim Holtz variety (not the life threatening OMG no variety!)
I actually made this a couple of weeks ago as I purchased Sir Tim's new book and felt inspired! It started off life a beer matt. I brought my Adirondack dabbers out of retirement and used TH's resist technique from his book
The butterfly I cut from a template and stamped the backside whilst I covered the top with pages from a book (you know, the Jane Austen one!) I then stamped over the top and painted it with rock candy crackle glaze. The flower I made from grunge paper covered with book pages and cut out (this is all from Tim's book by the way) and then stuck an old button in the centre.
The embelishment on the bottom is actually an old earring that I covered with sepia accents!
I actually made this for someone so if she looks I hope she wont be disappointed when she receives it!!
Have a fabulous rest of the day :o)

Winter Wonderland

This weeks theme over at WW is 'monochrome'. I had planned to use black and white but I have ran out of black card!! The blue card is actually darker in real life. Not sure if you can see it that well but the blue trip I stamped a snowflake in white, then stamped somemore in clear versamark and embossed them with clear powder.

All the stamps are from Elusive Images and the card and ribbon are from Stampin' Up. Enjoy whats left of your Tuesday! :o)
