Christmas decorations

These decorations are for a swap over on UKS. I used my trusty microscopic slides (as usual LOL) to create these. 3 are traditional (hence the reds, greens and golds) and the purple one is my token modern one LOL
Hope your all having a fab Sunday. For those who have been wondering I've been moving house unexpectedly so had to wait to get my internet back. Then my hard drive decided to take early retirement!!!! What is it they say, it never rains but it pours! LOL

Digital Tuesday Challenge

This spooky little Halloween card is for this weeks Digital Tuesday challenge. I love Halloween but we don't (I'm not sure if celebrate is the right word LOL) do that much with it over here in the UK.

This weeks challenge is to combine 2 images from different companies on a card. My card uses a cute little witch from Sweet November stamps and a cool background from C.C. Designs.

Thanks for taking time to stop by! :o)

Bring on the bling!

This highly sparkly penguin is one of Mo Manning's fabulous digital stamps, and because he's a Mo image I can enter this card in Mo's challenge which is Christmas!!!

Seeing as how it's a Christmas card this also qualifies me for the Winter Wonderland challenge. This week it's to use no design papers - hence the plain monochrome. I did glitter up the penguin though to add a bit of interest LOL I've no idea where the sentiment stamp came from,, I purchased if from Ebay a few years ago.

The black theme also fits in with this weeks Tuesday Taggers too!!

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday and thanks for looking! :o)

C 0f C Week 8!

This piece covers 2 challenges. This week over at Linda's challenge is Inking Grunge - page 39 of your Compendium.

My flowers are made from grunge paper and the foliage is grunge board.

I then stamped the words onto a postcard and embossed them, then over-stamped a scratched wood background.

The beads on this piece also qualify me for the All Things Crafty raffle. I won last months so had to pick a theme so I chose - beads LOL

Have a fab Tuesday :o)

Something old, something new....

So my 'phase' this month is jewellery making LMAO! I made this bracelet from bamboo dominos which I purchased from the Artistic Stamper.
I printed some old Japanese woodcuts onto card, stuck them onto the tiles and coated them in diamond glaze. Pretty much the same deal as the domino pendant I made.

I then joined it all together with elastic and added some pearls.

I'm entering this into the Artistic Stamper challenge which is 'Something Old, Something New'. So I made a 'new' bracelet out of new tiles using 'old' Japanese woodcuts. LOL

Anyhow thats me done for this evening!!!

Ooooo just noticed, how hairy is my arm!!! Apparently that's a sign of good circulation LOL :o)

Challenge after challenge LOL

Now the school holidays are upon us work had quietened down so I have more free time - yay!!!!

This card is for a few challenges. Over at Club Anya Monday's theme is to 'alter' your images. I used Prince Ian's body, Edwards head and Flutter Anya's wings to make a gruesome flying boy LOL

This mean I can enter him over at Macabre Monday's challenge which is 'Foul Flutterings'.

The card sketch is from Mojo Monday. Not sure who's birthday this will be for, someone who's a bit 'alternative' that's for sure LOL

Enjoy the rest of your Monday! :o)

Nothing special

just a notebook for a friend. I found out he writes songs but does it on an Ipod - how boring!!! Thought I'd make him little note book to write them in instead LOL

It's simply a cheap ASDA notepad that I've covered with black card and a piece of music. I then stamped the words 'Absolute Beauty' and embossed them in black. Covered the whole piece in velum and added a flower. I chose a monochrome theme as it's for a bloke.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday
:o)

Domino Pendant

I made this after being inspired by my blogging buddy Jo who showed me one she had made at her last craft class.

It's simply a normal plastic domino that I super glued a bale onto. I then stamped a piece of card and glue it to the domino, gave it a coat of clear embossing power then finished it off with diamond glaze.

This pendant has gone to a much deserving blogging buddy Nicky, who hosts the best swaps over at UKS

A couple of challenges

This 'happy' card uses the digi image 'end of summer' from Mo Manning. I love this image!!! She fits me in with Mo's challenge this week which is paper piecing .

The sketch is from Mojo Monday. All the paper/card is from Stampin' Up, which is why it all co-ordinates LOL

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday :o)

Cant think of a catchy title!!

This card is for 2 challenges!! The sketch is from Winter Wonderland and the theme over at Christmas Stamping All Year Long is buttons and bows.

The background paper is from Dovecraft, as is the little tag that says 'frosty' at the top. The stamps are Elusive Images ones.

I also added a bit of ink around the edges to give them a bit of definition.

For those who have been asking here are some more pictures of the ducklings. As you can see they are now more 'duck' than 'ducklings' LOL They are now living down at the allotments as my garden pond was begging for mercy!!!!! And my goodness they are smelly little things!!
:o)

Compendium of Curiosities Week 7

This is the first time I've had time to join in with Linda's fab challenge blog.

This week we are up to page 55 of Sir Tim's Compendium of Curiosities. Again, I've used my beautiful mermaid stamp to make a sea inspired hanging.

Only a quick post because my dog Wilma is sat next to me on the sofa and she keeps trumping - eeeewww!!

Enjoy the rest of your Monday, im off into another room!! LOL

Sunday, 25 July 2010

Ta daa!!

Yes, Im actually blogging something that I made!!! This is for July's art raffle for All Things Crafty (see link on side bar). This months theme is 'Seaside'. I've made a canvas using a fabulous mermaid stamp. I painted the canvas using adirondack dabbers, stamped the image on velum and glued it onto the canvas.

To hide the seams I've glued all manner of beach finds around the velum, shells, sea glass and a few pearl beads.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :o)

Burtonesque Dolls challenge

So this weeks challenge over at the Burtonesque dolls is to make a toe tag inspired by Beetlejuice!

I used Betty from Simply Betty stamps. Seeing as how toe tags are usually on corpse's I coloured her using grey and greens so she looks a bit, under the weather shall we say LOL

the background to the tag I created by swiping some distress ink in Walnut and Dusty Concord over my non-stick mat. I sprayed it with water and pressed the tag into it.

The vine stamp is from Stampin' Up. The little coffin is left over from Halloween and the beads and black ribbon are from an old corsage.

To finish off, here are some more pictures of my babies!! 6 altogether, out of 12 eggs, which isnt that good really! We did have 7 but his legs were disabled so unfortunately ............

Anyhow, enjoy the rest of your Sunday. England are out of the world cup (yay!!) so OH has gone to bed for a lie down after swearing that he will never watch football again - until next time LOL

:o)

Another England game tomorrow so might actually get some crafting done! Although my new babies are in in a box in my craft room so I think I might just be giving duck cuddles instead LOL

Hope your enjoying the good weather where you are!! Have a fabulous Saturday night :o)

A Burtonesque birthday!

Another card for 2 challenges! This one is for The Burtonesque Dolls, which is to Create a card/project fit for a Burton Birthday! The sketch is from Midnight Madness.

The papers and card came from my scrap drawer. The boarder piece is a Stampin' Up roller 'Forever Flowers'. The main image is London from Simply Betty stamps.

Monday, 14 June 2010

Macabre and Mojo Monday

This card is for Macabre Monday which is inspired by the TV show Tru Blood! I tried to focus on a southern belle/Gothic/vampire twist LOL

The sketch is Mojo Monday.

The image is an Elusive Images stamp. I love her but haven't used her in ages!!

The papers are called Paris Nights.

Thanks for looking!

Farm Fresh Friday!

Ok so not joined in FFF for a while! This uses The Greetings Farm Hope and Grace set.

The papers are from my scrap drawer. Another flower, yup, that Stampin Up punch is gonna be a fave I can feel it LOL

Thanks for looking and have a good Monday! :o)

Sunday, 13 June 2010

Another quick card!

as I am off to work again in a bit! This is for this weeks Winter Wonderland challenge which is to use traditional christmas flowers. I've used the poinsettia.

I was totally inspired by Janet's card! The flowers are punched from card and vellum using a Stampin' up punch. Infact, everything but the sentiment is Stampin' Up!! The sentiment is a PSX stamp that is about 14 years old!

Anyhow, no rest for the wicked. If footie is on tonight I may be back LOL

Have a good Sunday! :o)

Friday, 11 June 2010

Are you a WCW?

What's a WCW? A World Cup Widow. My hubby informed me a few weeks ago that he would only be watching the England matches (of which there would be at least 3!) 'No probs', Im thinking, I'll just go round to my friends.

When I got in from work this afternoon the South Africa and Mexico game was on. 'I'm watching this cos it's the host nation playing', was the cry. Then tonight the France and Uraguay match has been on. Apparently I've misunderstood the phrase 'Im only watching the England games', I guess by England he actually meant 'all countries playing!

On the upside it means I can craft away to my hearts content without him complaining LOL Anyhow, I made this piece for no other reason that the football was on!! It started off life as a large jigsaw piece. The skull is Tim Holtz grungeboard that I painted with white acrylic and swiped over some perfect pearls. I made the eyes by using beads threaded through some wire.

The backing paper and silver 'things' are from Stampin up. The heart and wings are also grunge board that I've glittered for a bit of added bling.

Anyhow, enjoy the rest of your Friday night! :o)

Tuesday, 8 June 2010

Anyhow, no rest for the wicked, off to work. I have a 12+ hour working day today - dont you just hate bad management LOL Have fun whatever your up to

Quickie make

So I made this little Friends book for no other reason that I just felt like it!!! Im pretty pleased with it too!! I also embraced my embossing powders, something I've been getting into again of late!

I was going to save it for a birthday but have decided to give it to someone very close to me who's as nice as pie!!

Have a great night! :o)

Saturday, 5 June 2010

Another cute card!

I think it's all this warm weather LOL Although I have had toothache the last few days, that's made me feel pretty dark I can tell ya!!!

This card is for the Allsorts challenge which this week is to take inspiration from Strawberries and Cream - YUM!!! The backing paper is from Stampin Up. The images are both freebie digi images, I thought Strawberry Shortcake and the 'sweet' sentiment fitted perfectly for this challenge!!

The flower I made following a tutorial on the Whiff Of Joy site. Hope your enjoying the good weather, looks like it's all set to change tomorrow. Luckily (or not!) Im working so the weather wont bother me lol
:o)

Crazy Challenge

This card is for this weeks Crazy Challenge which is to use white, pink and black. I embossed the background and used my nestabilities for the focal image. The stamps are called Elegant Birds. I finished it off with some black ribbon and a charm. Only a quick card but I think it's pretty cute!!!

Macabre Monday!

Over at Macabre Monday the challenge this week is 'Vile Vintage'. ?!?!?! Ooooer missus and all that!! I decided to use a 50's style pin up to create my vintageness. She actually reminds me of Bettie Page!

The spiders web is actually some halloween paper. The flourish is Tim Holtz grunge board that I coloured with Adirondack pain dabbers and purple ink. I also added some TH Rock Candy, but the camera dosent really pick it up,

I hope it's vintage and vile enough for the challenge!

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

Sassy relay day 2

This card is for the 2nd day of the Sassy Studio's 1st Anniversary relay. It's uses the fab digi image of Princess Penelope. I thought she'd go well with some of my DCWV Once Upon a Time paper.

I think this card might find it's way to my friends for their wedding anniversary next month!

Have a great Sunday evening! :o)

Saturday, 29 May 2010

Sassy lady!!

This very quick! card is made using a freebie from Sassy Design Studios. Tomorrow is their 1 year anniversay and to celebrate they are giving away this image as a free digi!!!

Infact, they will be giving away a free digi over the next 4 days!!! You just have to create someting before the deadline using your free image.

So hop on over!!

:o)

Burtonesque challenge

This weeks challenge over at the Burtonesque Dolls is to be inspired by the film The Corpse Bride. (hence the gravestone LOL) The image is a digi stamp from Tiddly Inks, as is the sentiment.

The background paper is from DCWV Once Upon a Time pad. I love the mix of colours on it!

Anyhow, hope you have a fab bank holiday weekend. My mum is here which means no crafting for me! :o)

Tuesday, 25 May 2010

Much cooler Tuesday!

Looks like the end of our mini heatwave! At least it will be cooler at work!!!

This card is for 2 challenges (look at me combining again!!) The sketch is from Mojo Monday. The theme is from the Crazy Challenge which this week is Girl Thing. What can be more girlie than shopping!!!

The image is a freebie from Amber Ink.

Anyhow, no rest for the wicked. Off into work for a couple of hours. I fell down the stairs on Friday and tore my ligaments in my ankle so am now on crutches. On the upside, I am getting lots of sympathy from work LOL (more than Im getting at home anyhow LOL)

Have a fab Tuesday!

Monday, 24 May 2010

Macabre Monday!

Over at Macabre Monday the challenge this week is to create a beautiful, beastly butterfly piece.I thought black and red would be quite a gothic combination! The butterfly is a Marianne Design die. I added a bit of ribbon and a bead and made it into a wall hanging. You probably cant tell but I dabbed some Rock Candy distress stickles on the outside of the wings.

Quick and easy, but hey, it is nearly time for Eastenders LOL

Festive fun!!

This card is for 2 Christmas challenges. Over at Winter Wonderland this week it's a sketch challenge. At Christmas Stampin' all Year Long the theme is paper piecing. So, I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and combine the two!

Now for the recipe. The backing papers are from Dovecraft. The strip on the left isn't ribbon. I put a piece of double sided tape onto the card then sprinkled glitter onto it. The card pieces are from my scrap box and the Father Christmas image is from Whiff of Joy.

Hope you had a fab Monday! Gosh it's been hot here but I believe the weather is set to break tomorrow. Back to the usual rain I guess LOL
:o)
